Vision
Cambusbarron Community Development Trust will enable community groups of all ages to visit, enjoy and learn from and in the woodland.
Strategy
To enable the Cambusbarron Village Nursery to develop a facility in the woodland to meet the needs as an Early Learning and Childcare provider which specialises in outdoor play and learning.
We will develop our own resources for education and reach out to local education providers and community groups to set up sessions and workshops for learning to meet their needs.
Educational sessions for all ages – what would you like to see/learn about in the woodland?
Some of our summer sessions have even had 3 generations of same family attending – a real family day out in the woods to learn!
“We absolutely loved the walk! The kids were loving Amos and he kept them entertained the whole way! Both my parents loved it too!! Thank you and if you can pass our thanks onto Amos too!” – Mya
We aim to build closer links to local nurseries, primary and secondary schools and support their outdoor learning opportunities.
CVN (Cambusbarron Village Nursery) regularly make sure of the woodland during their nursery sessions. Learning more about the woodland through Amos and have also been planting new trees and vegetables too!
In January 2021 CVN received the results of their feasibility study for constructing a bespoke building in Gillies Hill Community Woodland. Based on the research carried out it showed there is demand, it is potentially fundable and is financially viable.
“This is an exciting step forward for CVN – we are already increasing use of the woodland and look forward to the day we move permanently!” Jane Bain, Director of CVN
