Coming up – community tree planting days Sunday 22nd and Saturday 28th March in owl wood up the 7 Winds path from Gillies Hill entrance.
All volunteers welcome including families! We have 1850 young trees to plant – oak, aspen, Scottish elm and Scot’s pine and possibly some redwoods. Building on the successful community plantings in the last two years. More details will follow.
In the meantime our contractor Dave Shanks will carry out ground preparation next week using a large tracked digger to create small mounds for planting positions.
The digger will travel up to the replanting area on Tuesday and back on Thursday from the woodland base, crossing some of the paths on the way but mainly in the woodland. Please be mindful if you are up there and keep your distance- at least 50m – from the operation for your own safety.
