Bees in the Walled Garden
We introduced beehives to our gardens in April. We have now finished collecting and have produced 20 jars of local honey which will be on sale at our AGM next Tuesday.
Introductory offer: £5.00 per jar
Trees infected with dyres polypore
We have found more evidence in the woods of a fungus – Dyers Polypore – that infects conifer trees and causes them to rot. We are assessing how best to manage any health and safety risks that this could cause.
New entrance signs
Our volunteers have installed new signs at Gillies Hill, Whinneyknowe and the Castle Drive to highlight the many features of interest in the woods and to help people find their way around.
Fire wood sale
Sunday 23rd August 10am until 4pm
Following a successful season cutting and splitting fire wood, we are now in a position to start selling again. We are going to start off with a Sunday open day sale at the woodland workbase.
Users are invited to come to the woodland workbase and pick up fire wood in their cars between 10 and 4. We will sell the wood loose, or bagged if you would prefer.
