Newsletter October 2026

Welcome to our monthly newsletter – keeping you up to date on Woodland and other development trust matters.

Dark Woods

We are in the process of consulting the community on how the restoration of the dark woods will proceed. Where should trees be planted? New paths? Benches? Any other features you would like to see?

Let us know at the coffee morning on Friday 30th, send us an email, come along to the walled garden at 10am on Saturday 31st October to walk over the area and discuss proposals.

Bike Maintenance

We are again hosting a day of FREE bike maintenance from RECYKE-A-BIKE at the community centre on the 30th October. There is also a coffee morning on at the centre from 10:30 until 12 noon, and Trosachs Search and Rescue will be demonstrating how to use our defibrulator from 11 until 1pm.

New additions to the walled garden

Over the last six weeks we have seen great changes in the garden. We have a new shed and a new polytunnel. The shed will be used for meetings, craft, days and information classes. The polytunnel will be fitted out with raised beds so that we can grow more fresh fruit and vegetables for the community. It will contain raised beds, built by volunteers from home grown larch wood.

We continue to offer good quality firewood for sale.

  • Sourced from Gillies Hill;
  • Outdoor seasoned;
  • Cut and split by volunteers.

Due to an unexpected donation, we also have 10kg bags of softwood kindling for sale.
