Aspen planting :
Interesting to read this news article about the “endangered” aspen where it is described it as “a vital habitat for rare wildlife, plants and fungi and is one of Scotland’s most important native trees”. The article notes that aspen “regrowth has been challenging” so it is fantastic to be able to report that aspen planting has been one of the biggest successes from this year’s planting activities with some of the trees planted having grown to 7ft this summer alone. We intend to plant more aspen over the coming months/years as they clearly appear to thrive in our woodland 🎉
