Cambusbarron Village Nursery Shelter Planning Consent Approved!

We’re delighted to share that planning permission has now been granted for the woodland shelter that will support Cambusbarron Village Nursery in becoming a fully registered outdoor nursery within Gillies Hill Community Woodland.

This is a major milestone for a project we at Cambusbarron Community Development Trust have been proud to support from the outset. The partnership between CCDT and CVN is a brilliant example of how community land can be used to create meaningful, nature-connected experiences for children and families.

The CVN team has now submitted their building warrant application, and we’re working closely together to finalise a lease that secures this exciting future.

It’s taken real resilience and commitment to reach this point, and we’re thrilled to see the project gaining momentum. The woodland is already a vital part of nursery life, and this new shelter will provide a sustainable, off-grid base to support play, learning and connection in all weathers.

There’s still plenty to do — and if you’re inspired by this work and want to get involved, CVN would love to hear from you! They’re welcoming new volunteers and board members who want to support early years, outdoor learning and community-rooted projects.
