Cambusbarron Community Development Trust (CCDT) regrets to inform our valued volunteers and community members of the temporary suspension of all volunteering activities, effective 10th January 2024. This decision stems from a thorough review of our risk assessments, with a focus on enhancing overall health and safety measures within the woodland.
In alignment with guidance from the Community Woodlands Association, CCDT is actively engaged in renegotiating insurance terms to ensure comprehensive coverage for our volunteers. Upon the completion of this process, we anticipate the resumption of volunteer activities.
As part of our commitment to safety, additional measures have been implemented following the health and safety review. Signage has been installed beside main bodies of water to enhance awareness, and a comprehensive tree survey was commissioned. Identified priority actions from the survey have been promptly addressed, and ongoing follow-up works will be carried out by contractors to ensure the safety of identified trees.
CCDT appreciates the understanding and cooperation of our volunteers and community members during this temporary suspension. Updates on the progress of insurance negotiations and safety enhancements will be communicated through our official channels.
