Tree Safety Precautions

In the coming weeks we will be performing some essential tree safety work by felling some dead standing trees.  The trees to be felled are situated on either side of the path within the ‘dark wids’ area.  These shaded out trees are constantly falling and are a risk.  The woods are becoming ever more popular to enjoy so we wish to take this precautionary measure now.  Because this stand of trees has never been thinned many have been shaded out which has limited their growth and caused them to die.  These trees do have habitat value but the overarching priority in this circumstance is the safety concern which needs to be addressed.  The trees will be felled, then extracted with a traditional working horse.
