Update from Contractor Onsite

Following inspection a total of 8 sitka spruce were brought to the ground safely by our contractor on 5th May. The felled monkey puzzle was also cut into sections and extracted to the workbase.

We look to minimise ground disturbance where possible so it was a small tracked machine as pictured below that the contractor was using for winch assistance while felling.

More information on the original work request can be found in this first post – https://ccdt.org.uk/notice-of-contractor-onsite/

Other than our trained and insured chainsaw operator or authorised contractors there should be no other use of chainsaws within the community woodland. This is for the safety of all users of our community woodland.
